At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, Cody Turner, a former Antelope Valley High School standout, and his college team, the Lee Flames, were narrowly defeated 6-5 in an NCAA Division II baseball contest against the Carson-Newman Eagles.

The teams met at Larry Carpenter Stadium at Olympic Field for their first encounter of the season.

Turner pitched 1.1 innings, yielding four earned runs and issuing four walks.

The Flames are set to play next on Friday, March 20, at 4 p.m. at Larry Carpenter Stadium at Olympic Field, facing off against the Christian Brothers Buccaneers.
