Representative Mike Garcia Honored with U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Advocate for American Business Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Mike Garcia (CA-27) has been honored with the Advocate for American Business award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Rep. Garcia received the award at the Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce’s 22nd Annual State of the Community luncheon, recognizing his leadership and bipartisan efforts to support job creators and protect free enterprise.

“I’m proud to receive the Advocate for American Business award,” said Rep. Garcia. “America’s small businesses are the backbone of our economy, driving job creation and innovation. I’ve made it a priority to push back on harmful regulations that stifle economic growth and limit opportunities for job creators. In California, laws like AB 5 have made it harder for independent contractors and small businesses to thrive. The last thing we need is for these kinds of policies to spread nationwide.”

“Congressman Mike Garcia has been a strong advocate for free enterprise and local job creators,” said Jennings Imel, Vice President of the U.S. Chamber’s Western Regional Office. “We are proud to present him with our Advocate for American Business Award in recognition of his leadership and support of policies that expand economic growth and opportunity for businesses and families in LA County. The award also recognizes Congressman Garcia’s bipartisan approach to tackling critical issues like combating organized retail crime.”

Rep. Garcia has established himself as a champion for business owners, consistently fighting against harmful regulations in the labor space and pushing for policies that help businesses grow. The focus remains on supporting job creators and fostering opportunities without diminishing the rights of workers. His bipartisan approach to problem-solving is essential in today’s 50/50 Congress, where getting things done means working with both parties.

“In a time when Congress is evenly split, bipartisanship isn’t just important—it’s necessary,” said Rep. Garcia. “I’ve always been willing to reach across the aisle to protect our job creators and support the people who are driving our economy forward.”

Rep. Garcia closed with a call for unity: “It’s time we stop talking about ourselves as left or right and instead recognize that we’re all part of one team—the American team. Being an American is the greatest privilege we have, and we need to focus on what unites us, not what divides us.”

As Congress moves forward, Rep. Garcia remains committed to supporting pro-business legislation and ensuring that the economy stays strong for all Americans.
