Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-27) recently appeared on Fox News to address the recent attacks by Iran on Israel amidst escalating tensions in the region. Emphasizing the significance of supporting Israel and holding Iran accountable, Rep. Garcia expressed concerns over the vulnerability of Israel to multiple threats.

Speaking on the situation, Rep. Garcia stated, “This isn’t a sophisticated projection of power from Iran, but what it does demonstrate is just how vulnerable Israel is. They’ve got threats from all 360 degrees – from the north from Hezbollah, from the south from Hamas, and to the east now from Iran with direct attacks, using not only drones but also ballistic missiles. This is why we need to stand behind Israel. This unfortunately is the fruit of appeasement rather than peace through strength that we’ve been seeing out of the Biden Administration.”

Regarding the necessity of a response to the attacks, Rep. Garcia recalled a past incident involving Iran and highlighted the importance of holding Iran accountable. He said, “This [attack] does require a response and if you recall back in 2018, Iran actually shot down one of our Global Hawks…We did strike back within Iranian territory at the missile sites that launched those missiles to take down that Global Hawk. This doesn’t necessarily lead to World War III, but the Israelis have a right to protect themselves, project power, and go to the point of origin of these attacks… The Iranians need to be held responsible.”

The interview conducted on Fox News shed light on the escalating tensions in the region and the urgent need to address the attacks on Israel while ensuring accountability for the perpetrators.
