Rep. Mike Garcia, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 27th district since 2020, recently shared his thoughts on significant historical and legislative matters through a series of tweets.

On December 7, 2024, Rep. Garcia commemorated the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. He stated, “83 years ago, the attack on Pearl Harbor shook our nation to its core. We honor the 2,403 brave Americans who lost their lives and the generations who answered the call to defend freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

On December 8, 2024, Rep. Garcia highlighted a proposal included in the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). He announced that “The FY25 #NDAA includes my proposal for the largest pay raise in history—14.5%—for junior enlisted troops. Our servicemembers deserve better than food stamps. This historic raise is how we fix it.”

Later that day, he reiterated his commitment to supporting military personnel by emphasizing his role in securing this pay increase. He expressed his dedication by stating “I fought to deliver the largest pay raise in history for our junior enlisted troops—because the most important element of our military is our troops. Always proud to stand for our military and deliver!”
