Senator Suzette Valladares has used her social media platform to voice concerns about recent decisions and ongoing issues in California. On March 11, 2026, Valladares criticized the California Board of Parole Hearings for granting parole to an individual sentenced to 355 years to life for sexually assaulting children. She stated, “The CA Board of Parole Hearings did it again!! They granted parole to a man sentenced to 355 YEARS TO LIFE for sexually assaulting children. 355. YEARS. TO. LIFE. Releasing a child predator with a sentence like that is a complete failure of judgment. They must reverse this”.
The following day, on March 12, 2026, Valladares responded with “Correct”, in reply to an earlier post on the topic.
Later on March 12, she addressed economic concerns related to fuel costs in California, writing “Day 43 since we called on the Governor to hold a special session on gas prices. Meanwhile, Californians are still paying nearly 50% more at the pump than the rest of the country. But don’t worry, the campaign… I mean book tour… is going great. Enjoy the Florida gas prices”.
California’s high gas prices have been a recurring issue in state politics and are influenced by factors such as taxes, environmental regulations, and limited refining capacity compared to other states.
Valladares’ comments reflect ongoing debates within California regarding public safety decisions and cost-of-living challenges faced by residents.
