Senator Suzette Valladares has used her social media platform to address issues related to California’s energy policies and legislative performance.
On February 21, 2026, Valladares posted about the state’s reliance on foreign oil. She stated, “Over 65% of the oil Californians rely on comes from foreign countries. We’re outsourcing production, increasing emissions across oceans, importing from places with weaker environmental standards — and then forcing Californians to pay the highest prices in America for gas.”
In a follow-up post on February 23, 2026, Valladares referenced an appearance on a news program to further discuss these concerns. She wrote, “Grateful to @eveningedit for having me on to talk about California’s energy policies and their real-world consequences. Forcing oil production out of our state doesn’t cut emissions – it exports them – while demand stays high and gas prices keep climbing. Californians are paying”.
On February 24, 2026, Valladares highlighted her recent legislative achievement by sharing her score from a policy organization. She posted, “I’m proud to share that I scored 100% on the @IEEP_ State Legislative Scorecard!
Standing up for responsible policy, economic growth, and strong communities isn’t just a priority, it’s a commitment.
Grateful to everyone who supports the work we’re doing to deliver real”.
California has some of the strictest environmental regulations in the United States. These policies have contributed both to reductions in local emissions and debates over increased reliance on imported energy sources due to limits on in-state oil production.
The Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP) is an organization that evaluates lawmakers based on their support for economic development and community-focused legislation.
