Senator Suzette Valladares has used her social media platform to express concerns about California’s current energy policies and their impact on residents. In a series of tweets posted between February 18 and February 20, 2026, Valladares highlighted issues she sees with the state’s approach to fuel sources and energy pricing.
On February 18, Senator Valladares wrote, “When you realize common sense isn’t all that common.
And I won’t stop.”
The following day, on February 19, she commented on developments in a legislative committee: “This week in the State Senate Environmental Quality Committee, I sounded the alarm — again. California’s energy policies are driving reliable supply out and prices up.
CA is at a breaking point. We must stop phasing out dependable fuel sources before real, affordable”
On February 20, Valladares addressed fuel prices directly: “The worst part is, the pain at the pump in California is self-inflicted.”
Senator Suzette Valladares represents California in the State Senate. Her remarks reflect ongoing debates about energy policy in California. The state has implemented measures to transition away from fossil fuels toward renewable energy sources; however, critics argue that these changes have contributed to higher costs for consumers and concerns about reliability.
