SANTA CLARITA, CA — Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-27) hosted a ceremony today to officially rename the Valencia Post Office at 24355 Creekside Road as the “William L. Reynolds Post Office Building,” in honor of Bill Reynolds, a decorated Vietnam War veteran and a steadfast advocate for veterans in the Santa Clarita community.

“Bill Reynolds was a true American hero,” said Rep. Garcia. “He exemplified what it means to serve—both in combat and here at home. Bill didn’t just wear the uniform; he lived a life of courage, honor, and dedication to others. This dedication is a permanent reminder of his legacy and ensures it will inspire future generations.”

Rep. Garcia’s bill, H.R. 292, to rename the post office received unanimous bipartisan support in both the House and Senate and was signed into law by President Biden on May 7, 2024. The renaming ceremony brought together veterans, community leaders, local families, and the Reynolds family to celebrate Bill’s enduring impact.

“Bill was not only a war hero; he was a pillar of our community, a voice for our veterans, and someone who worked tirelessly to make sure their stories were heard. This post office now stands as a tribute to that dedication—a symbol of what it means to serve something greater than oneself,” said Rep. Mike Garcia.
