Representative Mike Garcia convened a roundtable in Antelope Valley to discuss pressing issues facing veterans. The event brought together veteran advocacy leaders and Jon Clark, Staff Director for the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, at City of Hope.

"The top priority is making sure our veterans in CA-27 get the care and respect they deserve. They shouldn’t be forced to travel hours for basic healthcare or face roadblocks to services," stated Rep. Garcia. He emphasized the need for improved access to healthcare, citing challenges such as understaffed clinics and canceled appointments, particularly at the Antelope Valley Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Rep. Garcia reiterated his commitment to ensuring that veterans receive quality care and announced plans for a fully operational VA clinic in Antelope Valley by 2025. This initiative aims to prevent more veterans from experiencing gaps in service.

The roundtable provided an opportunity for those directly involved in supporting veterans to share their experiences and concerns. Rep. Garcia intends to bring these insights back to Washington to advocate for effective solutions for veterans in his district.
